By the Honest Little Apps studio · Updated November 2026 · Sumthread is ours. The other three are not; we describe them from their US App Store pages, read November 3, 2026.

Is there a daily logic puzzle app without ads?

Yes. On iPhone, Sumthread, Sudoku a Day and Sudoku - No Ads & Offline all say in their App Store listings that they show no ads, and all three play offline. Daily Logic Puzzles offers the widest variety, but its listing says it contains advertising unless you buy the Remove Ads upgrade.

"No ads" is only half the story, so we also read each app's price list and privacy label. That is where the real differences sit: some are free with subscriptions, some track you across other apps, one asks nothing.

No ads is a promise about your attention. The privacy label is a promise about your data.

Want Sudoku? Two clean picks. Want something new each morning? That is where Sumthread fits.

Honest limits of Sumthread

The design decision behind all of it: a puzzle for a five-minute break should take five minutes, not five minutes plus a 30-second video.

A five-minute break, minus the ad

Picture the usual morning. Coffee, a few minutes before work, a daily puzzle. In an ad-supported app, the board ends and a video starts before you can see your time. In Sumthread, the last tile locks, the amber rings glow, and you get a spoiler-free emoji grid to share if you like. Then you close the app.

That is the whole loop: one Daily Thread, a local completion history, no account, no network needed. If you want more, the collections are there; Morning Break boards are 3×4 and made for exactly this slot.

Finish, glance at the grid, put the phone down. That is the point.

Pause anywhere; it saves your step.

The rule fits in one line: trace a single path through every tile, up, down, left or right, hitting the target sums in order. The last target must finish on the last tile. Dashed borders show where you can move; amber marks a tile that would complete the current sum.

Questions about ad-free daily puzzles

Does Sumthread have ads?
No. Its App Store listing says 100% offline play with no account required, no ads and no third-party tracking.
Is Sumthread free?
Yes, it is free to download, including the Daily Thread and five curated collections.
What kind of logic puzzle is Sumthread?
A number-path puzzle. You trace one continuous path through every tile with no diagonals and no revisits, hitting ordered target sums exactly. Each time your running sum hits the target, that tile locks with an amber ring and the next segment starts from zero.
Can I share my daily result?
Yes. The Daily Thread offers spoiler-free emoji grid sharing and keeps your completion history on your device.
How can I check whether any app has ads before downloading?
Read the description and the App Privacy section on its App Store page. Apple's age rating questionnaire asks developers about advertising, and the privacy label lists any data used to track you. Both are reported by the developer.
