Dear Hashi solver,
You already know the pleasure: a field of numbered islands, a handful of bridges, and that moment when the last link snaps into place. If you are looking for games like Hashi bridges, we will tell you about two good classic options and the one we make, which borrows the islands and bridges but changes the rule underneath. You can play our rule right here before you decide.
Play a flip-the-bridge board in 30 seconds
In Sumbriska, each island shows a target number. Every bridge carries two numbers, one for each end. Tap a bridge to flip it, and both islands' totals change. Make every island hit its target. This little board is our hand-made sketch of that core idea, not a copy of a level from the app.
Tap a bridge, watch two totals move: that is the whole rule, and it gets deep fast.
How Sumbriska works, in three steps
- Read the targets. Each island shows the sum it needs. The App Store listing says the rules take a minute to learn.
- Flip bridges. Send numbers between islands until every sum lands exactly. Hints, Undo and step explanations are always there and never cost XP.
- Build your harbor. Every solved board builds your own island harbor across six themed regions, from Lantern Harbor and Orchard Isles to Twin Beacons.
The real board looks like this: islands as glowing circles, yellow target tags, bridges as two-number tiles. Matched islands turn green, as they do in our demo above. Some boards, called Two Tides, ask one bridge layout to solve two tide schedules at once.
What games are like Hashi bridges on iPhone?
If you want the classic Nikoli rules, try a dedicated Hashi app such as Hashi Puzzle or Conceptis' Hashi: Bridges. If you like the islands but want arithmetic and a world to build, try Sumbriska. We checked all three App Store listings on November 3, 2026; here is what each says about itself.
| Hashi Puzzle | Hashi: Bridges | Sumbriska (ours) | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rule | Classic Hashi: connect islands with the right number of bridges | Classic Hashi, grids up to 24×32 | Flip two-number bridges so every island hits its sum |

Sources: the US App Store pages for Hashi Puzzle (by Aliaksandr Uvarau) and Hashi: Bridges (by Conceptis Ltd.), and Sumbriska's own listing, all read November 3, 2026. Privacy rows come from each app's developer-reported App Store privacy label, which Apple does not verify. Prices may vary by region. The classic rules are summarised from Nikoli's Hashiwokakero page: as many bridges as the island's number, at most two between any pair, no crossings, all islands linked.
Want pure Hashi? Pick a Hashi app. Want sums plus a harbor to build? That is the gap Sumbriska fills.
Honest limits of Sumbriska
We would rather you know these now than after the download.
- It is not Hashi. You never count bridges or worry about crossings. You add and balance numbers. If the spatial rule is what you love, this will feel different.
- Two regions are free. Regions 3 to 6, all side boards, Gale Run and the 3–4 ring workshop need the Voyage Pass, an auto-renewing subscription with no free trial.
- It is new. Version 1.0 arrived on November 3, 2026. A classic app with 9,000 levels simply has more boards today.
One design decision we are proud of: help never costs you. The listing promises that hints, Undo and step explanations never cost XP, because we wanted you to learn the logic, not guard a score.
The free download is a real game, but the full voyage is a subscription; we say so up front.
A small story from the harbor
Picture the Daily board on a slow Sunday. Five islands, two stubborn ones. You flip a bridge between them and both totals jump the wrong way. You undo, try the long bridge across the bottom, and suddenly two islands turn green at once. One more flip, and a tiny lighthouse appears on your island. That is the loop: a quiet board, a careful thought, something new on the map.
One careful flip can turn two islands green at once.
Who should pick something else
- Classic purists: choose a Hashi app; the rules there are the Nikoli ones.
- People who want thousands of free boards with no purchase at all: an ad-supported classic app may suit you better.
- Anyone who dislikes subscriptions: Conceptis' one-off packs may feel fairer to you.
Families, one note from the listing: child profiles have no purchases and no links, and the adult area is protected by a PIN or Face ID. There are no ads, no accounts, and Sumbriska works fully offline.
Warmly, the Honest Little Apps studio
