How do you solve today's number puzzle?
Make every island show its target number. Each bridge carries two numbers, one for each island it touches; tapping it swaps which island gets which. Find the flips that make all six totals match, ideally in no more flips than par. Every board has at least one solution.
- Read the gold tags. Each island's target sits above it; the big number is its current total.
- Start with the most wrong island. A total that is far off needs a bridge with a big difference between its two numbers.
- Watch both ends. A flip always moves the same amount: one island gains exactly what the other loses.
One flip, two totals change: that is the whole puzzle.
Honest limits
- This web board is ours, and small. It is a free demo of Sumbriska's flip-the-bridge rule, not the app's own Daily board. The app goes further, with Two Tides boards where one bridge layout must solve two tide schedules at once.
- The full app is partly paid. The free download includes regions 1 and 2, the Daily board, The Deep and Harbor Run. Regions 3 to 6 and the side boards need the Voyage Pass, an auto-renewing subscription at $4.99 a month or $29.99 a year, with no free trial. Apple explains how to cancel a subscription at any time.
- We don't promise a sharper brain. The US National Institute on Aging (page reviewed June 2024) says to "beware of claims that playing certain computer and online games can improve your memory and thinking." Read the NIA's advice. Play because it is a pleasant two minutes.
- Who should pick something else: if you want a big grid like Sudoku or KenKen, or a timed race against other players, this tiny board will feel too gentle.
A free daily board, an optional paid app, and no brain-training promises.

A two-minute morning
Kettle on. Today's board has one stubborn island stuck at 9 when it wants 14. You try the short bridge on the left: it climbs to 12, but its neighbour drops out of green. Back again. The long bridge on the right has a 7 and a 2, a difference of five. One tap, and both islands turn green together. Three flips, par three. The lighthouse comes on, and the kettle clicks off.
