Stop reacting. Start pre-flipping.
For one-tap gravity runner players who crash on spikes they saw. Drag to compare two flips.
Drag left. Before: you flip when the spike arrives and the arc is still rising as you reach it.

How do you time flips in a gravity flip game?
Flip at a fixed spot on the track, not when the obstacle reaches you. Your runner needs time to cross the tunnel, so pick a landmark (a wall seam, a set distance ahead) and tap when the hazard passes it. Players who wait to react are a beat late every time, even with quick hands.
Why a beat late? Wikipedia's mental chronometry article puts the average simple reaction time of college-age people at about 190 milliseconds for something they see. Then the runner still has to travel. Add the two and "reacting" often lands after the window has closed. The calculator further down shows how small that window gets at speed.
You can't out-react a spike. You can out-read it.
Gravity flip game tips, in 6 cards
Pick a flip line
Choose one spot ahead of your runner and flip when a hazard crosses it. Same spot, every time. Consistency beats speed.
Look a gap ahead
Watch the next obstacle, not your runner. Your thumb follows your eyes.
One tap, not two
Panic double-taps cancel your flip. Commit to one clean tap.
Re-flip mid-air
Many gravity games let you flip again before landing. In Fluxo a ring shows when you're airborne, so you can thread tight gaps.
Hug the near-miss
Fluxo rewards close dodges: three in a row ignites FEVER, 6 seconds of double gold and an orb magnet.
Read the sector bar
Every 8 points Fluxo switches sector rules, from reward sectors like GOLD RUSH to challenge sectors like SPIKE STORM. The bar under your score shows what's next, so you can change your flip line before the speed changes.

Flip window calculator: how many milliseconds do you get?
Set the runner's speed and the gap between a ceiling block and the next floor spike. We work out the window in which a flip clears both, then compare it with that 190 ms reaction figure.
0 ms
Our model: a 5-tile tunnel, 1-tile runner and hazards, and gravity tuned so a full floor-to-ceiling flip takes about 0.35 s. Real games tune these differently; the shape of the result holds.
Notice what speed does. Doubling speed halves the time the gap gives you, while the flip itself takes just as long. That is why Hyper modes feel unfair until you move your flip line earlier.

Honest limits of these tips
- The calculator is a model. It uses one tunnel size and one gravity. It shows the trend, not Fluxo's exact numbers.
- Flip lines need practice. For the first few runs a fixed line feels slower than reacting. It pays off once speed rises.
- Fluxo has ads in the free game. House-ad breaks and optional reward buttons appear; the one-time Premium removes the breaks. The full game is playable free.
Who should pick something else
- If you want hand-built rhythm levels and a level editor, Geometry Dash is built around those; Fluxo is an endless tunnel.
- If flashing colors bother you, FEVER turns the tunnel rainbow. Fluxo has reduced-effects and screen-shake toggles and honors iOS Reduce Motion, but a calm puzzle may suit you better.
- If you want zero ads with no purchase, the paid Geometry Dash is the closer fit.
